LARQ: The New Self-Cleaning Water Bottle

• Most of us now are well aware of the waste that comes from using plastic water bottles and a lot of people (especially here at Western) have converted to having a reusable water bottle or a Hydroflask to help reduce plastic water bottle waste. However businesses continue to innovate and redesign this product to increase sustainability. I recently read this article on a new water bottle called LARQ designed to be even more sustainable by being the first ever self-cleaning bottle. 
• The bottle uses a 280 nanometer UV-C LED light that eliminates up to 99.99% of bacteria and viruses that accumulate in your bottle. I think that it's not only a really awesome way of using technology but also 
•  This light also helps reduce the number of times you need to clean the bottle so besides reducing plastic waste, you'll also be reducing water use in cleaning the bottle. 
• This innovative design also provides safe and drinkable tap water especially for those living in urban areas or cities that have limited access to clean water.
