EF Reduction Goals (Update)
From my previous blog post, I mentioned that my three EF Reduction Goals were:
- Reducing my coffee consumption to 3 cups per week
- Washing the dishes using the dishwasher because washing by hand wastes more water
- Walking to my classes instead of driving because I live on South Campus and my classes are just a 10-minute walk away
So far I have been pretty successful in sticking to my three goals. I have significantly cut down my coffee consumption and I have also been taking my time walking home from class which has actually been great considering the nice weather we've been having. In terms of my second goal, I've only been using the dishwasher when I have enough dishes to actually use it. When I only have a few plates and utensils in the sink I still opt to wash it by hand.
Since I feel like I've done a pretty good job sticking to my goals, I've decided to also cut down on my meat consumption. I eat so much meat and it's in almost every meal I eat throughout the day so I want to challenge myself by only eating meat every other day.
I plan on working hard to stick to these goals so I can reduce my footprint and by the end of the quarter see a significant decrease in my personal impact on the environment!
